Pony Express

It seems that the hair trend for 2011 is the humble ponytail.
The hairstyle was featured in the collections for Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and a few other designers.
Clean, simple and natural; how we describe the simplistic style most of us put our hair into. However when matched with the likes of a French maids outfit from Louis Vuitton or a slick jacket by Todd Lynn, a ponytail becomes a futuristic, sex charged style with a sprinkle of rock 'n' roll added in for extra measure.

Wear the pony low and loose for that textured, mussed-up Alexander Wang/ Burberry catwalk look.
Avoid wearing your pony too high in the centre, to steer away from looking like a reject from my little pony remember the ponytail should never be above the brow bone.
However if your choosing to go for the S&M style featured in the Marc Jacobs/ Louis Vuitton shows, the higher the better.
Hide the bands you use to fix your ponytail with by twisting a little of your own hair around it and securing in place.
Do not be afraid of using hairspray, use a spray on the hair (but avoid the ponytail itself) to smooth fly-away hair and to fix in place.
